Sporene efter Inés – Book cover (Gyldendal)
In Jakob Silas Lund’s novel Sporene efter Inés (Traces of Inés), Daniel sets out to reconstruct the life and disappearance of his sister Inés, who was kidnapped and killed in the Central African Republic, where she did humanitarian work.
The face on the cover, of somebody who could be Inés, is made with a pattern of dots (in concentric circles from the middle of the book’s spine), a pointillistic ploy that makes the image hard to read close up, while easily decipherable from a distance. Inés is there, though not quite.
