Forestillinger om Ana Ivan – Book cover, Gyldendal

The cover for Mikkel Rosengaard‘s first novel Forestillinger om Ana Ivan (The Premature Death of Ana Ivan) features an alarm clock that at first glance might look normal, but on closer inspection has a 14-hour dial. This subtle and hopefully effective manipulation refers to a central theme in the book – a rift in time, years missing, chronological disorder.

A hidden feature, intended to be a delightful surprise for those who notice, are the glow-in-the-dark elements on the clock face. Close the book, turn off the lights, and for the next 15-20 minutes the hands and numbers glow.
