Knæk – Book cover (Gyldendal)

In Mikael Josephsen’s Knæk (Break), a collection of prose poems, the protagonist spends December in a psychiatric hospital, obsessing over jealousy and drinking heavily.

One could be tempted to design the cover for a book titled “Break” with letters that were themselves broken, but that would probably be too obvious. Here the title is written “KN / ÆK” which does include a break, but a subtle one. The division makes the word almost abstract, a small poetic riddle to be solved.
